Default The New XTH

Hey, Guys

Since the XTH is dead and buried (happy 8th month anniversary, everyone!), maybe we should just make our own XTH.

I used to love betting on the mATs each month, and I'd love to do it again. Maybe if we set up a site, or even just used Guru, to bet zkeys on mATs every month we could have something similar to what we used to have in the XTH.

Think about it. A community run betting system based on odds and the positions of winning guilds. We could have a buy-in fee of around 10-20 zkeys and then do pay-outs the first of every month.

I don't have any specific parameters or anything in mind, but who out there would support this? Is it a good idea? And if so, how do you think it should work?

I think it would be very hard to find a "neutral party" that would:
a) meet up with a lot of people in-game (timezones) to
b) hold onto potentially thousands of Zkeys, then
c) search out potentially hundreds of people (timezones) to
d) give out proper amounts of Zkeys.

I like the idea in theory, but the actual procedure would need a lot of work and trust.

That was my first thought, too. I'd like to do it, but I don't know a safe way to ensure zkey delivery, etc. I was kind of hoping you guys had better ideas than I do :/

like the little pink avatars guy has already said, it would be really hard to find someone to not tkae and use those zkeys for a title or something. also, if that person gets hacked, or loses power, or gets grounded, or dies, you have a very big problem w/ assets.

overall in a "perfect world where ppl arent evil or scheme or are mean, this would be great. However the best we have is an online, no face to face, honour system between ppl. which is a recipe for a very very bad thing ;p.

Just leave it dead, I think most people don't even remember the XTH.

Actually, I think people are just tired of asking. Plus, most the threads here about it get deleted and anything about it on GWW gets you banned.

Inde does enough on GWG, hand zkeys to hundreds of winners would be a pain.
And where would the zkeys come from anyway?

Silly ideas should be buried deep. XTH was ANET's worst idea, and I am glad it's gone.

No. Let the Anet people do their damn jobs, regardless of how long it takes and how little they inform us of its' progress. It's on them, not us.

FYI, Inde retired from GWG and GW2G at the first of the year.

Also, to add to this, a long time ago GWGuru mods used to act as moderators in trades in game - as we are trust-worthy and easy to contact. This was back when trades weren't made up of 1750 ecto, because no one HAD that much ecto.

Of course, Guru stopped doing this when random players would make names similar to mod names, and steal people's stuff. Another reason Inde (or any of us) wouldn't do this

If I remember correctly, in-game gambling is against the TOS.
